According to the Nashville musicians' union, as of 2017 Alison had played bass on over 13,500 songs. For example, that's Alison on Blake Shelton's "Austin" and "Ol' Red."
Alison is a four-time nominee for the Bass Player of the Year Award by the Academy of Country Music (ACM).
Alison has recently been named a member of the "Nashville Cats" by the Country Music Hall of Fame. The program honors session musicians and singers who have made important contributions to country music history.


Alison is currently the touring bass player for Peter Frampton. In October 2023 she played bass for Vince Gill when he opened for the Eagles. Alison has also toured extensively with Rodney Crowell, Patty Loveless, Shawn Colvin, and Olivia Newton-John. In addition, she has played bass in concert with Joe Bonamassa, Amy Grant, Trisha Yearwood, Wynona Judd, Jim Lauderdale, the Dead Reckoners, Anders Osborne, and many others.
